Summertime is here!

We LOVE summertime in the Hyer home! We try to get out as much as possible & when we can't, we've got some awesome friends & family, oh & cute nieces to keep us entertained :)

Mason is going to be 21 months at the end of September. He's changed so much! He talks like crazy! Here's a few things he does!

• Counts to 6 by himself
• Attempts somersaults
• Tells everyone "no" & its getting old fast! Example, he will say No Dad and shake his finger at you, attitude!!
• Still LOVES dogs!
• He climbs up on everything, the counters, stools, windows, my desk at work...
• Loves trucks, he says truck and cries when we get in moms car instead
• He is an awesome sleeper! We can stick him in his crib and he just lays there till he falls asleep (knock on wood)
• Always wants to ride fourwheelers, dirtbikes, lawnmowers....
• Hates when mom sings with the radio, i get told to stop
• He's starting to talk in sentences and i love it!
• Still has that dang bottle & it is my fault!
• Eats & eats & eats!

Mason got a hat & has to where it when he sees his dad wearing his! He doesn't like to take it off!

We've been debating on getting another vehicle for quiet awhile now, we've just not been sure about selling the truck & getting a loan. Well my dad came across a Tahoe with a blown up motor & lucky us, my dad builds motors! So we have decided to sale the truck & get the tahoe, it'll be a very sad day for Nic who's had it since he was 17 and Mason who already loves it! I feel bad but we've decided it'll be the best thing for when our family gets bigger (not an announcment, and we've been asked that by everyone we've told that we're getting a tahoe) and we will keep my honda for the good gas mileage and running around.

 We scored some tickets to the Aggie vs Utes games & had JLow & Chelsie go with us! There was tons of people!! So for the first 3 quarters we stood behind everyone to watch the game. Well we ran into the Watsons (friends from Bounitful) and they had some extra seats around them which was perfect cause the game went into OT. They were awesome seats so we could see the game way better & we were just happy to have seats anyway!

4-Wheeling

Growing up we spent every weekend dirtbiking up Logan Canyon. Since Nic & I got married I think we've only been 3 times; never with Mason. I had mentioned to my dad we would LOVE to go up sometime & we finally got the chance. We took up a Rhino & 2 fourwheelers. It worked out great cause we just strapped Mase's carseat in the back seat of the Rhino & off we went!

Mason had a BLAST! He smiled and jabbered the whole time. It ended up being a 5 hour ride which none of us planned on so we were happy he did so good.

It was a long ride but we had so much fun. We had invited The Low's over for dinner at 7 and got home 6, had to shower & cook, but we did it! Sorry if it wasn't very good tho guys!!

4th of July

The 4th of July is always a crazy day for us! It's my moms birthday & there is so much going on out in Lewiston with The Hyers that we split the day with both families. We went up to the stadium on the 3rd to watch the fireworks & listen to Kansas. Mase did really good! He danced to the music, flirted with the girls behind us & kept feeding everyone popcorn whether we wanted it or not.

It was fun having the whole family there & having everyone get along. Things have changed so much from where they were last 4th of July. So glad that things are where they are now.

Mason was so excited for each firework to go off. His whole face lit up! But half way thru he started rubbing his eyes & made himself "comfy" on the cement floor with his blanket. Never fell asleep but just wanted to lay there.

On the fourth we went to Lewiston for the parade & rodeo. It was hot, and Mason got onrey...if you can't tell from Nic's face. We took a quick nap in between Lewiston & going down to my moms. Good thing cause Mason was a lot happier. We cooked dutch oven, did fireworks & played in the water. We are so glad both of our families live close so we can spend the holidays with everyone!

As of lately...

I try & keep this blog updated a couple times a month but haven't found the time to do it! I also do good at taking lots of pictures, but suck at that lately to! So here's a quick re-cap of March!

The Pitchers invited us up to their cabin for St. Patricks Day weekend, it was lots of fun! Lots of games, food & laughing! Also lots of crying! Mason started getting sick friday & we debated on bailing out last minute and just keeping him home. We ended up going & little Mase was a trooper! He didn't sleep at all during the night & was running a fever...long night for Nic & I! Luckly no one could hear him all night.

Mase did pretty good as long as he was being held the whole time & that is not like him at all! He likes to go & go. He's a pretty independent little guy! It made for a long weekend but we had fun & definently want to do it again!

This is Hailen...Cortney & Chae Geary's little girl. Mandee gets her one night a week & we try and get the kids together. They have so much fun! Plus it's a bonus to be able to catch up with Mandee & listen to all her wedding plans!! (Can't wait for her to marry Alex!!)

Mase never cares about this chair...until Hailen wanted to be in it. He wouldn't leave the chair when she was around. Jealous much?

He's always bonking his head...never slows him down though!!

 Mase never got better after we left the cabin. We thought he had a bad cold & ended up taking him to the Dr after he'd been sick a week. Well he's got an ear infection, no wonder he hasn't been sleeping! You would never know that's whats wrong...he doesn't care when you touch his ear & he is still pretty happy. He's been on medicine for a couple days & it's worked magic!!

Mase turned 15 months in March & he's just changing every day. He knows most of his animal noises & loves to repeat what we say. He's a handful! Takes after his dad! Mason loves to come spend time with me at work...or "papa's"! He gets so much attention there & makes a mess of everything! But that's our little boy!

Chruch time!

Can I just take a few minutes & complain?! Chruch lately is AWFUL!! If we sit on the benches, Mason stands up on bench, turns around & thinks he needs to entertain everyone in sight. It's not bad if he's just smiling at the people behind us or sharing his toys, but once he starts jumping on the bench, yelling/growling (growling is his new favorite noise to make) or throwing toys it gets old real fast! And it doesnt help that most the people in our ward act like they don't know us or are too old & think we are probably awful parents. He's doing this new thing where he thinks if he drops a toy or bottle he can use it as an excuse get down & get it. It gets better...after he gets down off the bench he realizes he can crawl under it or wander off. If I try & stop him he just cries & throws a fit. He drops his head down & starts banging it on the floor. He kills me! I take books, snacks, toys...etc. Nothing works! Oh well...I'm hoping this long...& drawn out phase will pass one day soon. I don't expect him to sit still for the whole time I just need him to settle down a little bit. & Naps are definently out of the question! Any advice?! I could use it! And peferably before sunday! Don't get me wrong, I love Mase & his going going going personalitly. He his so funny & the first 20 mins of sacrament aren't too bad. He also loves to dance to the choir and hymns & it's the funnies thing i've ever seen! But man I hate going to church lately. We last thru sacrament than go home for nap time. 

13 Months

Update on Lil' Mase...He is so funny! He's always getting our attention to make us laugh! He gives kisses & blows them too! He still does his fake laugh everytime someone laughs, he's also learned to "fake cry". I pretend to cry & he pulls the funniest face & acts like he's crying. He's also learning temper tantrums. You tell him no, the throws his little body to the floor & starts banging his head on the floor over & over. Where the heck did he learn that?! He's got 10 teeth & 2 more about ready to come thru. Wish they would so we could get some sleep in the Hyer home! When we ask Mase to get us a diaper he'll go to his room & come back with one in his hand, he runs away when it's time to change him tho. He has a fetish with shoes lately & it grosses me out. I hate feet. He tries to put them on himself or on dad. He does a pretty good job!

I had to take Mason to work with me last week a couple times & he has an attention span of like 3 mins. It makes it sooo hard. I'm SOO thankful for our sitter Stephanie! She's awesome, i don't know how she does it with so many kids. I pull up Mickey Mouse Club online & he will sit & watch it until he sees grandpa walk by. Then he's out of the chair & following him around. Speaking of Grandpa...Mason LOVES him! We pull up to Bakers & he says "pa-pa". When anyone tries to take him away from Grandpa he shakes head no & he's not going anywhere.

The Holidays

I feel like with Masons Birthday I haven't put much thought into the holidays & blogging about them. It is so weird having his birthday 4 days before Christmas. But even with it close we had a lot of fun for celebrating both his birthday & the holidays! We started it off with an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party the Low's put together. There was lots of games, food & ugly sweaters! Most of them looked like some I could find in my grandma's closet! They gave an award for the "Ugliest Sweater" & Nic got won it with his nasty pjs/sweater!

Mase was quiet the onrey butt after awhile! He got tired but of course he loves to entertain so no sleeping for him till we got home...dang kid!

We did white elephant gifts & Jlow got a toilet seat...Mason would not leave that thing alone. Proabably cause he wants to play in the real toilet at home so bad!

 This was Masons 2nd Christmas but it felt like the first! He got an Elmo Kitchen & lots of toys! Spoiled boy!

He loved it, even tho you can't tell from the picture! He was a tired kid!

For New Years Eve we had everyone over to play games & play Just Dance. It was fun to have everyone over! I do not know how Mason stayed asleep!
