Mason is a trooper!

Poor Mason, I swear every 6 months he's getting an ear infection, if he gets one more we're doing tubes! Sunday he woke up from his nap just as miserable as can be! About an hour after bawling & not wanting anything, he cheered up & acted like nothing was wrong.
The next morning he woke up and he had the nastiest ear! It had mucus coming out of it & wouldn't let us touch it to clean it. We took him in to Dr Mckenna, his ear drum had ruptered. The other side was ready to do the same any minute. So we got some antibiotics & ear drops to clear it up hopefully. He's so good to sit still & let us clean them & put the drops in so it must feel good to do because he doesn't sit still for anything! This morning his other side burst...poor kid! I feel so bad!
 Ear Infetion:
he Eustachian tube runs from the middle of each ear to the back of the throat. This tube drains fluid normally made in the middle ear. If the Eustachian tube becomes blocked, fluid can build up. This can lead to infection.
Ear infections are common in infants and children, because the Eustachian tubes become easily clogged.
Anything that causes the eustachian tubes to become swollen or blocked causes more fluids to build up in the middle ear behind the eardrum. These causes include:

•Allergies
•Colds and sinus infections
•Excess mucus and saliva produced during teething
•Infected or overgrown adenoids
•Tobacco smoke or other irritants
Acute ear infections occur most often in the winter. You cannot catch an ear infection from someone else, but a cold may spread among children and cause some of them to get ear infections.

Prevention:

You can reduce your child's risk of ear infections with the following practices:
•Wash hands and toys frequently.
•If possible, choose a daycare that has a class with 6 or fewer children. This can reduce your child's chances of getting a cold or similar infection, and leads to fewer ear infections.
•Avoid pacifiers.
•Breastfeed -- this makes a child much less prone to ear infections. But, if bottle feeding, hold your infant in an upright, seated position.
•Do not expose your child to secondhand smoke.
•Make sure your child's immunizations are up-to-date. The pneumococcal vaccine prevents infections from the bacteria that most commonly causes acute ear infections and many respiratory infections.
•Avoid overusing antibiotics. Overusing antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance.

We have tried all of these...& i don't think it makes a difference. Stupid ear infections!

Endometriosis.....blah!!!!

Warning, this is kind of a rant!! So time to get all personal on here because I use this basically as a journal to keep track of the big things that go on in our life. 3 years ago I had surgery because we found out I had Endometriosis
*Endometriosis is a female health disorder that occurs when cells from the lining of the womb (uterus) grow in other areas of the body. This can lead to pain, irregular bleeding, and problems getting pregnant (infertility).

*Symptoms:

•Painful periods
•Pain in the lower abdomen before and during menstruation
•Cramps for a week or two before menstruation and during menstruation; cramps may be steady and range from dull to severe)
•Pain during or following sexual intercourse
•Pain with bowel movements
•Pelvic or low back pain that may occur at any time during the menstrual cycle
*Treatment:
•Medications to control pain

•Hormone medications to stop the endometriosis from getting worse
•Surgery to remove the areas of endometriosis or the entire uterus and ovaries
So basically while I was on birth control the pain was mild, but I have been off of it since the end of September hoping to get pregnant & the pain has gotten worse & worse, I went in for a check up because we were really hoping to get pregnant soon & Dr Noorda & I decided it'd be the best option to get the surgery again to remove as much of the Endometreosis as possible so I can hopefully get pregnant soon. We know it has worked before because a month after I had the last surgery we found out Mason was on his way & we weren't ready for him at that point.
Last Monday was the most frustrating day ever! I had surgery scheduled at 9:15 am & was glad it was in the morning so we could get it over with & be home. They call me the night before & reschedule to 1:15...frustrating but it'd work. They call at 11 & change it again to 2:15. We got there, I was taken back, got the IV, my pain medicine kicked in so I was feeling pretty good! They didn't take me back to surgery until 4:15...we finally got out of there around 8:30 that night, it was the longest day ever! Luckly Nic was able to take work off for 2 days & take care of me! They removed as much of it as possible & so keep your fingers crossed that we will have some good news soon!

MICKEY MOUSE!! 2nd Birthday

How do we already have a 2 year old?! Time goes by so fast!! We are so lucky to have a little boy like Mason in our home with his SWEET & SPUNKY personality! Mason loves his Mickey Mouse so it was the perfect theme for a party. We had lots of food, friends & family. So thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us!!

Mason is quite the little talker, he's always blabbing about something & we do pretty good to understand what's coming out of his mouth! He LOVES Grandpa's shop & all the cool snowmobiles & dirtbikes that he gets to ride on. He's always "fixing" them like his uncles!
His favorite thing to do is sit on "Mason's Motorcycle" & make the engine sounds!
Mason doesn't love naps anymore but when he does take them, they last 2 hours with his dad!!
He's NOT a shy little boy! He can make new friends easy, he will be your best buddy even if it's the first time meeting them! Especially if your playing a cool game on a TV on the floor!
Mase DOES NOT like nursery. He's gone every week & he make himself dry heave from crying so hard. It's sad, but he's got to figure this stuff out! Mason loves anything with motors...Trucks, trains, fourwheelers & even mom's car! He loves when we have people over to visit! He's a show off!
He's been going to the bathroom on the toilet latey & does awesome with it. We've not "potty trained" him so we're not really pushing it much but lately all he wants to wear is his pull ups & he knows when he does he has to go on the toilet. Mom just needs to get her shiz together & push it while he wants to do it!
He's MASTERED the somersault! Still loves bath time, he always wants a bath. It's a good thing tho!
Mason has spent a lot of time in time out too! He sure knows how to push buttons, it has gotten better, when he's doing something he knows better than to not do, i'll ask him if  he wants to go to time out, he usually will stop what he's doing & switch gears fast!

We love you Mason! Happy 2nd Birthday!!

.:ChRiStMaS && NeW yEaRs:.

Christmas was a BLAST this year! Mason had just turned 2 we had so much fun with him! He helped us set up the tree Thanksgiving Day. We get new ornaments each year & for Mason we decided to do a Buzz Light Year because that was his favorite of the week! He was so excited to get it because we gave it to him about a week after we put the tree up so he already knew what he was doing!

Christmas morning I was like a child! I was the first one up & could hardly sleep. Mason slept till almost 9, he NEVER sleeps past 7. What the heck?!  When he walked out to the tv room we had his stocking on the couch & some The Little People Zoo set up, he was so excited! He was a pro at opening those presents especially from just opening a bunch for his birthday. We spent the rest of the day visiting the family & being lazy!
We of course had to play in the snow!!

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!
New Years Eve was a night not to forget! We had the Low's over, we ate dinner, played games & made some sweet music videos that I will not be posting or sharing! We also watched Ted & just laughed our butts off all night!
